We support the work of the North Essex CCG with their local Care Homes for older people
FaNs partnership work with North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group
Many organisations recognise our long, established relationship with Essex Care Homes and regularly link with us for guidance on how best to reach out to local Care Homes.
The North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (NEECCG) is one such longstanding partner. In recent years we have helped with the distribution of their 'Red Bag' scheme to Care Homes. We also helped to organise their NHS 70th Birthday party for Care Home residents which was greatly enjoyed. At that time the NEE CCG staff undertook their own FaNs volunteer challenge. They hosted their own Wishing Washing Line and successfully exceeded their target of granting 70 wishes for 70 Care Home residents for the NHS 70th Birthday.
Helping to respond to the Covid-19 challenge for Care Homes
The NEECCG contacted FaNs Network for help in ensuring the Care Homes in their area were aware of the advice and support available to them in the current Covid-19 situation. This resulted in Tony personally delivering emergency PPE via the CCG distribution hub to a number of Colchester, Clacton and Harwich Care Homes.
This has been much appreciated by our Essex Care Home staff in such a challenging time for them and reminds them that they have not been forgotten. Our Facebook page has been filled with grateful thanks and we have also had a number of Care Home re-engage, or engage for the first time with FaNs Network.
Please note that FaNs does not control the PPE supply; Care Homes must contact the NEECCG to arrange a delivery.
