We all need someone special – could it be you?

Published on

February is the month when we remember the special people in our lives and express our affection with gifts such as flowers and chocolates.

We all need to know that we’re wanted and valued by others and we’d like to ask you to spare a thought for older people in your community who could use a friend, not just this month but throughout the year.

Many live in residential care homes and while they are well cared for they may not have any family or friends to visit them for a chat and a laugh. Could you spare an hour to brighten someone’s day?

No longer being able to live independently doesn’t mean that older people want to abandon their hobbies and interests. Could you give a little time each week to bring a little fun into someone’s life?

We know that care home residents want to be part of their community and we’re supporting them and their care teams to create links with their neighbours. Would you like to get to know the people living and working in a care home near you?

We’d love to tell you more so do contact our Development Officer Debbie Tanner, or call 0845 017 1095 for an informal chat.
