FaNs award for Xtreme Gym

What an amazing result when Tom's wish was granted.

Recently, the lads at Xtreme Gym in Danbury picked up 86 year old Tom’s wish from the #wishingwashingline in Tesco Maldon. Tom’s wish was to re-engage with his passion, power lifting! Well, since then, Tom has had a wonderful visit from the lads, and has now come all the way from Southminster to Colchester to not only come to watch the boys compete, but have a go himself, and boy, did he put us youngsters to shame!! It was just lovely to have family and friends there in the enormous audience!!!!

Receiving the award Damien Rees said "Super pleased to accept this award on behalf of Xtreme Gym today. The guys at FaNs Network wanted to recognise the good work we had done by helping out with one of the local wishes of a local care home resident. (If you know, you know #Tom 💪) If you want to help out or find out more then ask your local Tesco about the wishing washing line or check out the FaNs website. Please share so we can spread the word, continue to support FaNs Network and hopefully encourage others to grant wishes too."

You can see a video of Tom at the gym HERE (on the Xtreme Gym Facebook page - use to browser to get back to fans network)

Such great work you guys, Tom obviously loved it! You are shining examples of the community spirit we at FaNs Network wanted to achieve through our wishing washing line - bringing the community into the care homes and the care homes into the community and making wishes come true - well done and thank you! Lisa - Team FaNs 😁
