Corner Lodge Residents enjoy Inclusion Ventures Trishaw Rides

This is great! Inclusion Ventures is part of the Jaywick and Clacton Youth Centre and the trishaw ride programme was an outgrowth of PC Cornelius’ “Bike Kitchen” as a way for the youth to interact with the elderly in the community and is based on the Cycling Without Age programme.

Thank you to Corner Lodge, in Jaywick, who got in touch with us to tell us how much their Residents had enjoyed this opportunity to get out into the local community! PC Cornelius himself was the driver for the initial outing with Gloria Sanderson and Tina Smith. On future outings the trishaw will be driven by a volunteer from the Youth Centre. Residents will always be accompanied by Tina or another member of the Corner Lodge team.
The distance of the outings could be as far as from Corner Lodge to the Walton Pier and will depend on when the resident would like to return home. Gloria and Tina rode from Corner Lodge to the Clacton Pier, to the Life Boat station on Martello Bay, and home again. They had a fantastic time and shared their adventure with everyone during lunch.

Well done PC Cornelius and all at the Jaywick and Clacton Youth Centre. We all look forward to hearing of other outings for Corner Lodge residents!
