Peggy has her wish granted by local celebrity chip shop owner!
Peggy's wish was to have some lovely fish and chips at her care home in Southminster, so through a generous response from The Jolly Fryer in Burnham, she sixteen of her fellow residents had a wonderful treat of fish and chips, sausage and chips and even scampi!
Jolly John Lord and his wife Liz came all the way to the care home to deliver the surprise personally.
I love doing this sort of thing! It's crucial that our communities come together and to be especially galvanised during this awful time! My hope is that once this is all over, our communities remain this supportive, and I'm looking forward to coming out again under less restrictive circumstances!

Peggy was absolutely delighted when John & Liz arrived with the meals. It created a real party atmosphere and she's been talking about the next time we're having a "fish and chips" party!
