On Sunday Bernie's dream came true when she flew in a light aircraft
Bernie from Crouched Friars Residential Home had always wanted to fly in a plane and thanks to Martin Hastings from Anglian Flight Centres at Earls Colne Airfield EGSR she had her wish granted this weekend. Darren the pilot flew Bernie over Colchester and she even had an opportunity to take her turn at the controls.
Bernie's wish was granted as part of our Wishing Washing Line initiative. When we were approached by Crouched Friars with Bernie's request we posted her wish on our social media pages and appealed for help to make her dream come true. And true to form, the local community didn't disappoint and with the post being shared so many times it wasn't long before Martin came forward to help us.
